N-power: We need our stipends — Batch A and B

The N-Power beneficiaries have not been paid their stipends for the month of June.

The Minister in charge of the N-Power program, Sadiya Farouq, has earlier announced that the Batch A and Batch B beneficiaries will be disengaged from the scheme on June and July respectively.

The beneficiaries had a series of peaceful protests concerning the disengagement because they don’t want to go back to the streets unemployed.

The N-Power scheme was brought out by Buhari’s administration to help solve the issue of unemployment in the country and also reduce the level of unemployment in the country.

Since the N-Power program was shifted to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, beneficiaries have been experiencing delay in their stipends payment but the stipends were eventually paid.

The Batch C beneficiaries have already started applying inorder to be recruited into the program.

The June payment for both Batch A and Batch B has not been paid to the beneficiaries and they are eagerly waiting for it.

The Federal Government of Nigeria declared Thursday and Friday public holidays for the Salah celebration and today being Thursday, the beneficiaries have already started the holidays without their stipends.

But the beneficiaries are hoping that the alert of thier June stipend will still come. Some of them were hoping for their stipends, inorder to use the money to buy foods and clothes for the Salah celebration, but the stipends has not yet been paid.

We plead to the Federal Government to look into this matter and make sure that the beneficiaries are paid. They have really helped the communities in many ways.
