Four-time Africa’s women footballer of the year Asisat Oshoala was on target twice for FC Barcelona women in their internal training match on Monday, July 27.
The Nigerian star opened scoring for the Spanish women’s league champions in the opening half after making a brilliant run into the opposition’s 18-yard and placing the ball into the bottom right corner of the post.
She doubled her tally in the game with another superb move and dribbled the keeper before sending the ball right back into the back of the net.
It was their first week in training since football was shut down all over the world in March due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
Information on the club’s official website reveals that the exercise was the culmination of an intense week of work, with double and triple sessions practically daily, with routes in a privileged environment included.
They will continue in Girona Wednesday when the Lluís Cortes’ ladies will return to the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper where the set-up will continue, with a double friendly confrontation with Montpellier.
Little by little, the first official commitment of the course will approach, neither more nor less than the quarterfinals of the Champions League, on August 21, against Atlético de Madrid in San Mames.
