Manchester City have confirmed that their Premier League clash against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium has been postponed.
The defending champions are trailing current table-toppers Liverpool with 22 points and they would hope to bounce back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Tottenham in their last outing.
However, due to extreme and escalating weather conditions, the match has been moved after reaching out to concerned stakeholders including their visitors.
The club added that a new date for their matchday 26 encounter would be made available in the next few hours or more.
Pep Guardiola’s men hammered the Hammers 5-0 in their first meeting in the English topflight earlier this season but they will have to hold on a little more before meeting again this campaign.
Despite the large gap between City and Liverpool, the Citizens remain second on the log – with just two points better than Leicester City who have 49 points after 25 league games.
Guardiola will now hope to regroup at the end of this season to contend for the title next season having lost this one to the Reds midway into the season.
It would be recalled that Manchester City won the title back-to-back for the last two seasons but failed to replicate the form in their third.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Pep Guardiola is currently blowing hot after Man City fell to a 2-0 to Spurs over the weekend.
The loss stretched Liverpool’s leadership on the log to 22 points at the top of the Premier League after 25 rounds of games.
Premier League chief Richard Scudamore was concerned about the Etihad outfit emerging champions with 19 points in the 2017-18 campaign.
Meanwhile, all is not gloom and doom for City as Sergio Aguero was named EPL player of the month for January following his impressive goal-scoring run for the Blues.
The Argentine was outstanding and phenomenal for the Citizens in January, helping them to cruise to comfortable victories against Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
Aguero was also the only messiah needed as Pep Guardiola escaped what could have resulted in an embarrassing outing during 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
