Chelsea Updates: What we don’t expect may likely happen as Mendy & Kante injured

Chelsea head into Saturday’s Champions League final against Manchester City with the security of having already claimed a spot in next year’s competition.

However, Thomas Tuchel has witnessed his side lose two of their last three fixtures in all competitions, including a defeat in the FA Cup final to Leicester City.

Despite prevailing twice against City in recent weeks, Tuchel has a couple of significant injury concerns as the club prepare to travel to Portugal.

Here, Soccar NEWS rounds up all of Chelsea’s latest injury and suspension news ahead of the showdown at Estadio do Dragao.

Edouard Mendy

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ribs
Possible return date: May 29 (vs. Man City)

Soccar News: The Football club Chelsea reveal lost, rating to £96.6millions.

Having collided with the post during Sunday’s defeat at Aston Villa, Mendy needed to be substituted at half time.

While Tuchel is optimistic about the goalkeeper’s fitness, the Senegalese will be assessed over the coming days.

N’Golo Kante

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: May 29 (vs. Villa)

Kante was withdrawn during the first half of last week’s win over Leicester with Tuchel citing a minor muscle issue.

Although the Frenchman missed the following match at Villa, Tuchel remains hopeful that the midfielder will feature in training ahead of the clash in Portugal.
